Club Promotion, Expedited Funding Process & Feedback Forums
- Clubs are an important aspect of the academic experience. They help students foster community built around common interests. We believe Student Government should make promoting clubs a top priority. Practically, this means a new website design and a public club information database, to help interested students find a club home.
- In the past, new clubs have been forced to wait two semesters before receiving funding. We believe this waiting period is too long. Once a club has completed the application process and been approved for club status, a club should be able receive funds.
- Communication channels between clubs and SGA are clogged. We believe something should be done to clear them up. Student Government should host regular Feedback Forums for club representatives to attend and interact with the clubs’ department of SGA. This will allow each party to better understand the other perspectives in times of conflict and expedite process adjustments, increasing efficiency.
- Not all club needs can be met by SGA. Sometimes, we need administration’s help. While we can’t promise change in everything, we promise to ask the University for increased club funding, efficient event and speaker approval processes and new marketing policies surrounding club promotional items.
